Hello members!

I'd like to introduce to you the Skoda Laura L&K 1.9 TDi PD launched in the year of 2005 internationally but imported at the year end of 2006, creating a bench mark for entry size luxury cars on the Indian Roads. I bought my Skoda Laura L&K model manual transmission in the year of mid-2007 and I'm proud to say that this car has given me a remarkable feedback and an extremely good performance. Though being a diesel engine underneath its hood, the noise is pretty refined i.e., isn't heard much while inside but is pretty noticalbe when heard from the outside.

Skoda Laura uses a Pump-Duse injection technology engine which puts the driver in a habit to forget to refuel his/her car every time like a Petrol car does. The Laura is great at performing on Indian roads no at any given time. Though the car is a little bit bulky, the Laura makes its way through every possible conditions on road. I drive my Laura almost everyday covering a range of 70-90kms be it freeways or a city itself, the Laura never lets you down.

The average that the Laura gives to me is almost 11.87kmpl on city roads whereas it gives me 15kmpl on a freeway. The figures that I have provided might differ with the others driving the Laura but this is what I get from a diesel engine which in fact is quite satisfying with the fuel prices soaring high day by day.

To talk about the interior styling of the Skoda Laura L&K class, I fell in love with them the moment I got to know the way about each and every feature working in this car. For a car like Laura, the features are very high-end, luxuriously styled, compact, sensible and give a futuristic feel. Having an ESP(Electronic Stability Program) feature is very, very resourceful when it comes to heavy monsoons in India as it not only provides a good balance on all the four wheels of the car but prevents it from spinning out on sharp and wet turns. The ABS(Anti-Brake lock System) is also an add-on feature which gives a safe and manupilative driving experience. Also, there's nothing to worry about when it comes to your tyres running flat because the Tyre Pressure system in the Laura alerts to you when the tyres tend to loose pressure and tells you to pull over to a near by gas station to check your tyre pressures for a smooth and safer ride ahead.

The on-board screen is almost like a story teller to the driver. What I mean by this is whatever it maybe, everything is displayed on the screen whenever required! Nothing to worry about. You not only get to know the outside temperature but also the mileage of the car and a lot of other important things like the tyre pressure, alerts if any doors are not shut correctly, the cruise control settings, etc. etc. etc., everything is laid out to you on the screen.

Though there are many more features like the electronic sun-roof and moon-roof, automatic turning on of the headlights as well as the wipers, projector type factory fitted Xenon headlights, ORVM turn indicators, an automatic focus setting RVM for night driving and a lot more infinite features under the hood of the Skoda Laura L&K 1.9 TDi PD engine. The rear backseats are very well laid with good headrest support and ample amount of legroom in the rear as well as in the front. There's one more thing I forgot to mention is that the driver's seat is electronic and memory functioning. If two different people driving this car require two different ways of adjusting the driver' seat then all they have to do is set the position of the seat the way they like and then store that position of the seat to the memory of the car.

My experience with the Laura has been the best driving experience ever and very satisfactory. Very reliable, highly personified and the best entry size luxury car I've driven until date. Extremely recommended for users willing to spend 18lacs on the Laura.

I hope this review on the Skoda Laura helps all of you looking forward to buy this car boost your confidence and pride it takes to go around in this car. Personally speaking, I haven't encountered any problems yet with the Laura, though people my might oppose to this statement of mine but yes, no problems faced as on date! My car is a year old now and I pretty much drive the Laura the way its made to be driven. You try to exceed its limit, the car will give it back to you in a hard way but, if you treat like a mercedes, it gives you an S-class appeal. So its time for you to decide; throttle the peddle or save money and feel the S-class appeal?
