I bought my Fabia diesel 1.2 TDI in Jan2011.

Right from Day 1 the car had alignment and issues with the Airbag and Control unit which is the heart of the car.

The car is covered under warranty but I didn't expect it to be so fragile and avail it so soon.

from the 1st week onwards, I have been going to the dealer and the workshop with no satisfactory result.

The module to be replaced is out of stock and there is very poor communication from the Skoda Staff. a defective piece has been sold to me but I am stuck with it and there would be no replacement of the vehicle.

A new vehicle is going to the workshop, and I am pretty upset about this.

This might happen with hyundai or suzuki or any other car for that matter, but Skoda brags about its quality which I dont think is up to the mark seeing the competition today. there is no point paying such a price for a vehicle with no so great quality. the competition has a much wider range of features to be offered.

Its business of churning out cars, I dont think proper quality checks are being performed.

Any reader must evaluate these parameters and choose widely from the cars in this segment. Skoda is not what it used to be.

Let alone replacement of the vehicle, repairing the current one has become a case study for them.

I am not a happy Skoda Customer.

  • A.M.

March 2011 Update

  • Still no job cards to prove my visits to the workshop.

  • Parts changed under warranty, retail invoice copy given to me

  • Now I am in the process of chasing the dealer to get my Registration Number for the car. I am driving it illegally with an expired temp number. I have to resubmit my documents now.

The after sales service is a BIG BIG pain. This is just the start of my battle. It would now be a periodic affair getting this thing serviced. And after my case with the service center, anything they do with my car is at their mercy.

This would be my last update, I do not want to talk about it anymore. I don't have the time and energy to go to the consumer court, but this will be my last resort, as I did not buy a car to fight a case.

Recommending everyone to buy a Skoda, why should I suffer alone?
