Your skin takes a beating in any extremes of temperature. Too much sun can cause very dry skin, sun burn, wrinkles to form and all sorts of things.

Never stay in the sun for long periods of time especially as summer is just starting. If you are a sun lover and like to tan go slowly with it. I would start with about 10 minutes a day for a week and increase in 5 minute intervals. Personally I do not lay out and tan but I used to until I seen what it does to the skin over the years.

If you are going to be exposed to the sun for some time such as going to the beach make sure you use a lotion that prevents burning and that does not wash off in water and to be on the safe side use it again a couple of times over the course of the day.

If your eyes are sensitive to sun, make sure you wear dark glasses to protect your eyes and the skin around them. Some sort of a sun visor on the head will help shade your face.

As we get older we lose a lot of the oil out of our skin as it is and the sun makes this even worse. A good moisture therapy will help.

No matter what time of year it is never use soap on your face. Soap is drying and the face is one of the first parts that shows up with wrinkles. Use a cleansing products instead such as cold cream or Noxema to wash the face with. This is something that has been done in my family and passed down. It really works. My mom passed away at age 96 with not one wrinkle on her face. If you already have wrinkles its not too late, they won't go away but it will prevent from getting more.

A good lip moisturizer is a must in the summer also to prevent dry, chapped lips.

If you should some how get sunburn anyway stay out of the sun until it goes away and you will find if you rub soft margerine or butter on the sunburn it will take much of the burn out. In fact it is good for any type of burn.

I hope some of these suggestions are useful to you.

This is my 75th review so please be kind.
