This movie was released along with Maja for Diwali. Was told that this movie was a hit and Maja was a flop. But I seriously think it was only the good fortune of the producer that this trash movie was a hit.

The ''innovative'' story goes like this - Vijay aka Sivakasi is a welder in Ranganathan Street , Madras. One day he bumps against a wealthy girl Hema (Asin) and hands out some free advice about penmaiyin ilakkanam. As expected she falls in love with him which is further endorsed by a father (What a great father !!).Our hero has a short fuse and simply blows up and thrashes up everybody when he gets angry or agitated. So he thrashes hema's brothers when they suggest that he come and live in one of their palatial houses. Hema comes and gives a piece of her mind through which the hero realises that he needs to go back to his parents and our dear director decides that its time for exit of heroine and entry of villain. INTERVAL. Post interval, Prakash raj ( the lone star in this otherwise disgusting movie) comes in. He is the manipulative elder brother who has ill-treated his mother and sister and is sycophantic with his wealthy mother-in-law Mooli Moongari ( Yuck ! whoever thought of that ). The rest of the movie deals with Sivakasi's efforts to restore happiness to his mother and sister and how he foils Prakash Raj's eveil machinations. In the end, all's well that's well. SUBAM

ACTING :

Vijay - He takes the honours of a disgusting portrayal of a hero that borders on worship. I think he needs to understand something. People have thrashed even superstar's movies when they have been excessively adulated (ex.Baba). So I do not think he is going to sustain long if this kind of movies continue.I guess he needs to do a little retrospection and find that he was immensely likeable in Ghilli because he was playing his role of his age and with ease and elan. Also he is openly copying Rajini's style in comedy. If you have to be a superstar,U need to evolve a unique style . Rajini and Kamal were superstars because they drew an unique unimitated style. And please dont go about with such MC ( Male Chauvinistic ) dialogues when you and your heroine dance in western clothes and shorts in songs!!!.

Asin - She has tried to give her best in the miniscule role that was given to her. Her comedy as twins with Vijay was good. But again, there is a huge logical defect ( err..logic absent) in her falling in love with vijay. If you know of a girl who will insist on being in love with a guy who asks for a one night stand , please let me know. She deserves to put on a pedestal and worshipped ( Potra pada vendiya pen deivam !!!)

Prakash Raj - I have never fully believed that Prakash Raj infuses life and dignity in any role he takes up . But I am fully convinced about that. That's because he in the only positive thing that can be said about this otherwise trash movie. He is the saving grace that makes the movie watchable post interval. I think he is the only villain who gets claps as much or even higher than the hero. After a long time , I saw a villain who was utterly lovable and equally detestable at the same time.

Others - Special mention must be made about ''Sornakka - Moongari'',M.S.Basker. I dont know that Moongari character was there in the first place. Probably simulating recent Rajani movies, where a female ( whether she contributes to the story or not) begs forgiveness at Rajani's feet in the end. In any case she causes irritation as opposed to terror that she is supposed to generate. MS Baskar is ok as the thengai moodi vakkil. No womder the lawyers took ofence gainst this movie.

MUSIC :

Sreekanth Deva has scored the music. There is nothing spectacular in that it is a typical dappanguthu lore. One Mass song, one pathos sonng about mother-son relation ship,3 romantic songs of which one is picturised in foreign locales and 1 is a mindless jumping like they are a pack of monkeys.Nothing was woth writing. I had infact skipped all the songs after listening to the pallavi of the song( rather abaswaram)

DIRECTION :

Perarasu - Looks like he is going to beat T.Rajendar. With his hands full with direction, dialogue etc, no wonder he forgot that there should be something like a plausible story. The buildup he gives himself under the pretext of praising Vijay is stupid. Accmplished directors like Mani rathnam, P.Vasu( I am talking in terms if no of hits ) have kept quiet. Kurai kudam thalumbum. Sariya than irukku ! He is going to do another movie called Tirupathi Ajith. I pity Ajith for he has been reduced to do film with such fellas

So having said so much, if you still want to see the movie, I suggest you go after the interval because thats when the real fireworks starts. Good Luck !
