One year ago I was a subscriber of siti cable. I live in kolkata and on that time they had mammoth subscriber base here but after digitization their services became very inferior. The first problem was with their set top box it was a very very low quality set top box if we compare it with dth operator's set top boxes and secondly the sd quality picture was very poor.
They promised to provide a 24/7 service but at night I could not watch the football matches because their channels became very murky. I complained about it to my lco but they did not take any proper steps so viewing experience was not very soothing. All the time do not matter it was day or night I faced this picture quality issues.
After some day when I saw lco was not taking any fruitful steps, I decided to complain about it siti cable's official facebook page they replied to my post after two days and they also promised me that my issue will be solved within 2-3 working days. After this incident two people came two my house and they changed the set top box and put a new one. It worked will around one month after that the picture quality issue occurred again. I told this problem to siti cable's customer care but this time they said that now this was the problem of my lco's network and advised me to tell the issue to the lco.
So I went to my lco's office and said this thing but they said they did not have any issues with their network and pointed at the set top box as the main culprit behind my problems. They also told me that siti cable supplied a lot of substandard set top boxes to their customers and many people were facing that kind of problem. I requested them to repair the faulty set top box but they denied and said that it was not possible because siti cable did not provide an adequate number of boxes. so between this lco siti cable brawl the most affected people were the customers like me who was not able to watch the tv at peace. This was the main reason I left siti cable service and took tata sky which is far far better. There are few minor issues with siti cable which I did not like at all. Their tariff plans are very very rigid one can not make changes very easily like if you want to buy any specific channel for one month you can not do that because minimum days of subscription is three months which is weird. There is no convenient way of online payment which should be very convenient in modern day society almost every dth service provider has their online recharge portal but that thing you can not do here. lastly I would say it was a great decision to leave the service of siti cable.
