-Someone who reads my reviews would know that I might be the last person on this forum to give a negative review but based on the movie that I saw last week made me take this drastic step.For me to not like a movie it has to be really bad because i'm someone who would look for some positive even in a bad movie.Now here are the reasons why you should not watch this movie.
-The poor quality of script:- To make a movie the most important part is obviously the script, but this one had a poor story line.Raftaar Singh( Akshay Kumar) who is a trouble some but a sweet "jaat" from a small village in punjab is sent to GOA to work at his father's friends casino/hotel.This movie was the first movie where I saw sardars talking in HINDI.I mean not even a single line of punjabi in a punjabi movie.Pro punjabi actors in this movie from punjab industry were seen talking in hindi and it just made no sense.What was the point of showing a lioness(though in the movie termed as a lion) in this movie? Amy jackson's character just did not make any sense.
-Horrible music: - Leaving apart tracks like "Singh And Kaur" "Mahi Aaja" the music was overall torture to my ears, tracks like Cinema Dekhe Mamma and Dil Kare Chu Che made no sense. Sardars in red pagdi dancing on a south indian tune.And the track "Tung Tung Baje" was originally sung by Nooran Sisters in "MTV sound check".
-The fusion did not work:- With all due respect, prabhudeva directing a punjabi styled movie was a BIG NO! The man twisted the entire concept of Punjabi movies in bollywood .NO Punjabi dialogues, south Indian style music and dance, sardars talking in hindi. South Indian styled comedy and BTW what's with Akshay kumar's trousers? Like why? Just why.
-Positives:- Amy Jackson, just for the way she looks and her eyes:) and yes lara datta did a really good role in this movie
