I read so many reviews down here praising Singapore's infrastructure, cleanliness etc etc. Yes I do agree with that. Everyone said you can walk anywhere at any time it's very very safe but that I am not convinced. After the incident and seeing the punishment meted out to the wrong doer, I am bit wary to walk about freely in Singapore. My son in law who works there in work visa was simply hit by an unknown person inside the gym for no reason at all. Maybe he was drunk and wanted to show his girlfriend that he was a macho man whatever but the victim was my son in law. He went on bashing him on his face and he was bleeding, not that my son in law couldn't have whacked him but he didn't. Some person who was also in the Gym called the police. The police arrived they saw what happened and he was taken to hospital where 3 stitches were sutured and medication given for everything we had to shell out money. The person who caused the damage walks out freely laughing at the victim bleeding and police are questioning the victim whether he instigated the other person. There is proof from the video cam installed inside the gym. Next day we had already booked for a trip to Bali, so we did proceed otherwise everything would go for waste. He couldn't enjoy the trip due to pain, medication and humiliation . The whole trip was a waste. Finally after 5 months the police just sent msg in WhatsApp saying that he has been remanded to be in jail for 15 days. We don't know whether it's true because it's just a msg not a warrant I just can't understand what punishment is this for causing so much damage, trauma and expenditure for no fault of the victim. He is not even banned from coming to the gym. I feel police are hand in hand with the accused or is it because he could have been a PR, so he is been given a loose hand. So where is the safety, you can do anything with very little punishment. What is the use of having so strict and stringent laws when there is no safety. This incident has shaken me up completely.
