Flight Heathrow - Singapore then on to Phuket via SilkAir. Singapore came recommended and certainly the flight was up to time, the attendants were suitably caring, and the food was good. But I'll never fly them economy again. Legroom was only 32 inches (I confirmed it on the Web) that's two inches less than economy legroom on their main competition to Thailand/Malaysia/Singapore, Thai and Malaysian. I thought that ridiculous for a long intercontinental flight.
I'm large, and need the legroom but even my wife, who isn't, had a nasty crush to her knees when the person in front reclined his seat to the max. If the flight had been full up and we hadn't been able to move and stretch out then it would have been a really, really unpleasant journey. I came back with Malaysian and the little bit of extra legroom made all the difference, I know who I'll favour in future.
