Hope most of the people would read / heard spoilers. Just a brief review.
I really wanted to write review for Singam, because there is a general talk postulating that movie is racy, like Saamy and etc. I think it could be an delusion, because there is deficiency of auteurism and intelligent cogitation in recent Tamil movies. A stranded guy in desert will see sip of water as dessert. Anyways, will rant later. There you go.
Suriya on his promotional interviews stated this movie would be better than Kakka Kakka and Saamy. I was really upset after watching the movie. Not because of the content, which I knew its commercial potboiler, but when the crew raves the movie as the 8th wonder, blah blah, First time in Tamil, India, World, Universe and etc.
This is a very very ordinary movie and doesn’t even matches previous Hari – Suriya flick ‘Vel’. There is no harm in making commerical movies, but its kinda teasing the intelligence of average movie goer when Kuyil, Yanai, Erra, Mattukaran are fed. In some of the recent interviews many actors(Esp. Dr.Veejai) promoting their films are for ‘B’ and ‘C’ centers. I would really appreciate if someone defines the ‘B’ and ‘C’. Are B / C are artless and daft?. Boy, these guys need to take a reality check.
I see Suriya as very talented upcoming super star for current and next gen., but he needs to stop delivering crap tins like Singam. Some notes on crew.
This was Dir. Hari’s 10th movie. One more like this he will be in One among the 10(00000) league.
