I have been mostly flying on Air Deccan on Bangalore-Delhi sector. Since this is one of the busiest sector, I never faced any cancellation of flight because of not enough passengers or any other reason. There have been delays almost all of the times but once you accept it as a fact of life then you become used to it.
Plus they always informed me well in advance by either calling me or sending me an sms so I never had to wait for long at airport. And frankly if at the same fare as train I can reach my destination in 2.5 hrs with an hour here and there of delay instead of 36 hours in train I am not complaining. Its value for money. So have reasonable expectations and you will be happy.
However more recently I have seen fares shoot up because of high taxation, fuel surcharge etc. So it does not look so attractive to travel by Air Deccan any more. As for staff they have always been courteous especially considering such difficult situations they work in with people always yelling and cursing at them.
I would anyday travel on Airdeccan if I am getting a cheap ticket. Though now options have increased with so many low cost airlines coming in. I would like to try one of other airlines definately in my next trip.
