I have read this novel three times. And still I do not find it much interesting novel. The reason for reading it three times was that , this novel was included in our class 12 syllabus by cbse. So there was no any other option. I first two chapters seemed to be very interesting. But later on, the level of boring increases by increasing chapters. The story only roams around a single man called, Silas marner who is a weaver and was ditched by his best friend William.
Instead of reading this lengthy novel, I use to read the summary of the novel in order to be prepare for my board exams. I did not find it very good. I don't think that such type of novels should be added in our syllabus. According to the novel, Silas's gold coin was stolen by a man named Dunsey. And then, he felt very alone and sad. Later on , he finds a girl who was the daughter of Godfrey. And then he took care of her and she was married to a boy. Only this is the story.
It is just a waste of time in reading it. I recommend you all to not waste your money in this boring novel. Though it is compulsory for the cbse students but really its just a wastage of time and money.
