PLEASE MY DEAR FRIENDS, DON'T EVER GO FOR SIFY AND DON'T EVER RECOMMEND IT EVEN TO THE WILDEST OF YOUR ENEMIES. First of all let me say that I have selected the POOR rating just because rating is mandatory here. What Sify deserves is a CRIMINAL rating. Sify is not an ISP. They are a pack of thieves. WHAT THEY DO IS ROBBERY. Here goes my story.
On 6th of June 2008 a Sify executive came and took 2250 rupees from me promising I would get the BB connection within 3 working days. Even after 7 days there was no trace of any and I had to call numerous times to get the connection. AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE MOST INEFFICIENT IN THE WORLD. THEY NEVER TELL TRUTH AND THEY DON'T HAVE A CONTROL OVER THE LOCAL GUYS WHO OPERATE FOR THEM.
From the day 1 the connection was not working properly. Whenever I called them they were giving me silly reasons like OUR LOCAL EXECUTIVE IS NOT ANSWERING CALLS. If the local chap WON'T ANSWER his boss himself, how can a customer expect him to answer?!
After 7 days the connection went to hell permanently. I called them hundred times in vain. YOU CALL THEM TODAY AND THE IDIOT WHO PICKS THE CALL WOULD TELL THAT HE HAD DOCUMENTED EVERYTHING AND SOMETIMES A CASE # IS GIVEN. NEXT DAY WHEN YOU CALL THE OTHER CHAP WHO PICKS THE PHONE WONT'T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT YOUR ISSUE. You will have to repeat from the beginning.
I had to wait FIFTEEN LONG DAYS to have them repair the connection. REMEMBER, 15 LOOOOOOOONG DAYS! WE ARE NOT IN THE STONE AGE. This time the connection seemed to work perfectly for a couple of days and I paid 1000 bucks for renewal. But after three days it went to hell again. I had to make a million complaints and finally I was promised that there is something wrong with the wiring in my area and I would receive my installa tion amount(Rs.1800)and the unused amount(Rs.1000) within thirty days.
Now almost two months have passed. And one day when I was not home somebody came and pulled the cables. THEY ARE THIEVES AND NOT SERVICE PROVIDERS. Every week I am calling them, sending mails and try chatting. EVERY TIME I HAVE TO REPEAT THE ISSUE. COZ THEY SAY THAT THEY DON'T HAVE RECORD OF MY COMPLAINT. IN SHORT, I HAVE LOST 1800(INST. CHRG)+ 1000(UNSUSED AMNT.)+ NEARLY A 1000 EXTRA(TO CALL CALL THEIR PACK OF LIARS OF A CUSTOMER SUPPORT).
GUYS, ONE MORE THING I HAVE TO TELL. IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH CERTAIN SERVICE THERE IS A HOGHER AUTHORITY TO COMPLAIN. THAT IS THE WAY WITH ALL SERVICE PROVIDERS. SIFY IS AN EXCEPTION. I HAVE EVEN WRITTEN TO MR.CHARU SHARMA(CUSTOMER SUPPORT HEAD)SEVERAL TIMES. HE NEVER HAD THE COURTESY TO ANSWER.
THE TAIL END: NOW I AM USING A RELIANCE WIMAX CONNECTION. IT TOOK ONLY 3 DAYS FOR THEM TO GIVE THE CONNECTION. THE INSTALLATION AMOUNT WAS JUST 500(WITH SIFY IT WAS 1800). AND IT IS GOING LIKE A BOMB.
