I am Arif and I am sharing
my terrible experience with Sify (
installation itself , forget about the service).
I stay in BTM 1st Stage, Bangalore. I was shifting to some other house in same
area on 3rd July, 2007.
Since internet is extremely critical for me so I wanted to
have internet connection from the day 1 in new house. Since I already had BSNL connection so I knew
they can’t give me connection within 10-15 days.
24 June I applied for Sify connection , a sales
representative came to my house collected a check of Rs 3122 ( 2000 for installation
and 1122 for my unlimited plan) . I told him about the criticality of internet
connection for me, he assured me saying that “Sir your new house is very close
to our point so it will be very easy and anyways the
dealer of this area Yusuf khan also stay in next street”
I got call from Sify Dealers
on 2nd June, they asked me address of house (again??) .
I gave him the address, installation guy said “but flat is vacant”, I said “no
issue give the connection I am moving
into that house tomorrow ( 3rd July)”. Guy said “you come tomorrow and I will give
you connection within half an hour”. I said “are you sure”, he said yeah sure.
Due to certain reason I could not move into house on 3rd
july so I dint call up Sify dealer Yusuf
khan.
I was shifting on 7 July, so I called up local sify dealer yusuf on 6th
july around 4-5 PM
I asked him to give connection he said
if you are shifting tomorrow we will give tomorrow, I said you people
says its half an hour job then why don’t you give me today itself. Finally he
convinced me that
he will give connection tomorrow.
Now it was 7th July till 12PM , I did not get connection I called
up Kabir ( one installation guy, who worked under Sify Local Dealer) , He said “we have a problem one your
neibghoor is now allowing to keep switch at his place, so I wont be able to do
it today” ( Now look they were saying
half an hour job sence a week without a thourigh study of area).
I spoke to my new house owner and got the permission to keep
switch( or whatever ) on Tp of our
building and then I called up kabir again around ( 1-2 PM) and I said “Boss I solved
your problem now at least come and gimme the connection”, he said that he works
only on order of local sify dealer khan.
I called up khan and told him the scene, he said yeah he will take care of it.
Till 4-5 PM I got no response no phone
call. I tried calling local dealer khan again… he was not picking call in first
4-5 attempt but I kept trying. He finally picked up the call and said iam
busy right now I will call you back shortly…. But shortly was too long… till
one hour I dint get response… I called him again and I also SMSed him … for SMS
I never got any response… he picked up my call around 7-8 PM
And he is in meeting and he will call me back once it is over..
But whole day on 7 July, I never got any call from him nor
any reply for SMS
Finally whole day I was un connectected , which my concern,
because of which I had applied in advance.
Now next day 8th July ( Sunday) morning 9AM till 2-3 PM I kept calling him(Local sify
dealer khan) but he never picked up the call. I totally got frustrated …( I remember last Sunday
also , he had not picked up my call, however last Sunday I had tried only 2-3
times)
I SMS on local dealer’s phone and Kabir ( the installation
guy) ….saying that “Your service is pathetic …I was suppose to
get connection on 2nd July and still its me running behind you to
get connection … you have made me cry just in installation …what will happen
after I take connection from you…if your service is like this now…how it will
be in future…I no more want to get Sify
connection please send my check back” ….
Lets assume that local Sify dealer don’t work on Sunday (in Bangalore
shutting down the business on weekened wow) , at least Monday they could call
up and apologize ( but they never did ) not they sent the check back.
I wrote to Sify
support that “I applied for connection
on 24 June its 9 July , I still dint get
and now I don’t want connection from you, please send me my check back “
I immediately got a call from Mr Rajan B from Sify, he asked me the whole scenario
and I explained him the short story written
above , he said I will call up our dealer Khan and find out.
He calls me back within 15 min again and said “sir , khan
said we can not give you connection” (Now look a that attitude)
I said “even I don’t want, just send me my check back”
After this I also called up Khan and just imagine how
lucky I am he picked up my call J
I told him “”this Arif here , when are you sending the check’,
he said “we will send your check back very soon” and he cut the line , I SMSed
him “could you tell by when you can send the check back, because I know how
your very soon works, I saw it during installation process”
I never got any reply or check back from local dealer
Khan or from Sify support.
*So Guys if you are in Bangalore and if you are
planning to take Sify internet connection think thrice.
if you have someone in home who is completely free and can follow up by calling
10-15 times a day …
Please go ahead may be you will be connected soon, but if don’t have that much time and patience ..*
*Please stay away and
go for airtel or BSNL but atleast not for Sify*
