I was browsing through the reviews of different ISP's and suddenly found some like minded person's review in this section. Yes it's about Sify written by tak_saand and Kfigz.
Yes indeed Sify is a real frustrating ISP. Not only their poor customer support but their quality of service as well. They claim to be a very large ISP but they don't even have the capability to provide proper service through their franchisee. It sometimes seems that they just want to get more and more franchisee and are least bothered about what kind of standards they are maintaining for the last few miles right from the cable layout till the customer support through local service providers.
There is not even a single good unlimited package plan offered by Sify. Even if they claim some packs to be unlimited but actually they are restricted to 100mb download per day.
The connectivity is pathetic the net doesn't connect most of the time. Once I couldn't surf for around 15-20 days due to unavailability of connection and I was promised to get a compensation pack but I think it's still on it's way.
Coming to the marketing side, it has the most uncommitted persons on desk. I get a call from the marketing department every month when the pack is about to be finished. But to my great astonishment even after confirming them with the pack detail they don't update it for long time and finally I am compelled to buy through my credit card at the 11th hour. Once even they updated my pack after I bought it from net and so there was 2 packs in pipeline for me.
The site and advertisements of Sify are full of good remarks from the customers. I doubt how many are true. It's really disgusting.
Indeed India needs to go a long way before getting Broadband Internet service at home. Most ironical thing about Sify is they claim 64kbps connection as broadband that too the download speed is restricted to 8kbps whereas TRAI has standardized only 256kbps and higher speeds as broadband.
One last thing I would like to point out. I paid 3500 for my initial connection. But I can see different people have paid different amount. Is this Sify's policy to cheat people based on their buying capability?
STOP fooling people M/s. Sify.
