Fiat has proved once again in their new version of SIENA 1.2 EX that they know and can do far better than any others as far as Engine Management System, the overall riding comforts and, above all, safety to the inmates, and can make it cheaper. Priced just around Rs. 5.00 lakhs, this is a wonderful car. The car cruises as smooth as a hot knife through a solid frozen butter. The feel inside is very comfortable and you just don't care at what speed your car goes. There is an automatic feeling that you are very safe inside as if you are inside a military tank and nothing will happen to you even if it dashes against a tree. Perfectly true, since I was involved in a serious accident in my PALIO in September-02. 2002, when a State Transport Bus hit my car on my side (both of us were at around 80km.per hour and I came out unhurt with absolute calm, although the car was heavily damaged costing Rs. 1.2 lakhs for servicing. Except a big thudding noise, I did not feel anything inside when this happened.
SIENA is of similar construction and you feel very safe inside.
With its High Profile Tyre, the ride is excellent and extremely smooth. The refined engine management system has totally rectified the defect in their earlier 1.2 version of tardy response to acceleration and loss of power. The new Siena surges and responds faster than any other vehicles in its category. I have driven Opel Astra, Corsa, Ikon and City, but none of them meets its smooth and quicker response to the foot. Both in respect of acceleration and the Brake.
Although the model comes bare, without power windows, tachograph, and the likes, for its price, it is the best value for money.
It is s surprise that FIAT and its dealers have not popularized this car and people across the places where I drove the car raised their eyebrows with curiosity and many were upset on having bought some useless other brands for this price.
On High Way I have enjoyed 17km. per litre. Average on Mixed Traffic at 14km. per liter. It is a proven personal experience.
