This week I didnt have anyone to sponsor my movie outing so I watched an English movie 'Side Effects' which yes you guessed it right I downloaded from the Internet. I was excited to watch it as I had seen the trailer. It was intriguing I am talking about the trailer. So after watching a trailer some four months back I downloaded the movie and what I receive is very lukewarm entertainment.
It is again a Medical thriller(sought of) by Steven Soderbergh his last medical exploration was a good one in Contagion. What I liked about contagion was it moved at a brisk pace and what Side effects lacked was the brisk pace.
It is too slow at the start and picks up pace pretty late in the movie. The performances are good but not great. You expect more from A list actors like Jude law, Catherine and Rooney Mara. But you can't blame actors if the director wants to work on such a slow pace and assume that his end will justify the means.
I would recommend you to watch it still because it ends on a positive note which I like.
