Internet Should the internet be censored? The internet is a wonderful place for entertainment and education.I beleive the world wide web is an excellent medium for the free exchange of idea.The internet is unlike any information medium in history.

Though there are many similarities between internet and other means of communication, the free flow of information that the internet provides makes it a completely unprecedented information medium.Unlike television and redio, the internet affords users the capacity to access a breadth of information beyond just a channel changer with only a limited number of stations. The internet is relatively cheap and widely accessible.with a computer , network connection and the proper s/w , anybody can become a web publisher.there is virtual no limit ti how much content can be published on the internet, whereas newspapers are limited by physical cost such as the cost of papers. Besides all these internet has some disadvantage which lead it to a lot of talking and arguing element.such as pornography sites.

But it is not the reason to censor the internet because everything has advantage n disadvantage and I think there is nothing in the world which is eminent in itself.if the internet has some disadvantage then why don't people think abt its advantage .if we compare + and - points then there is 0.01% negative points and 99.99% positive points.so for 0.01% it is very absurd to censor on internet. if we take example of voilence, explicit language and drugs , some people consider these subjects completely inappropriate, while some finds nothing wrong in them.still others do not think twice when they read about sex crimes in the newspapers.The fact is that it is responsibility of a people to decide the material is appropriate or not. ex:- in 1968 a system film classification was adopted in US rating movies for violence, sexsual situations, adult language etc. these ratings gives people a better idea how appropriate a movie would be for them. Through internet we can contact with the person far apart from us , living in any part of world through email chat in very less cost . so internet is effordable.

Morover , the people have a right to know .this statment was the opinion of THOMAS JEFFERSON, author of the Declaration of Independence.he said to have been''strongly against censorship of any kind , beleiving that people should have free across to all information. Conclusion: In conclusion the popularity of the internet has made it one of the best and most developed and useful information tool available in the world.Through internet everyone has a freedom of speech and expressing the ideas .
