Hi,


I have shopped on several sites and have had, by and large a fairly good experience.However,all that changed when I shopped on indiatimes for a DVD player.This was on March 1st.I paid by credit card and sat back,waiting for my DVD player.


However,on 3rd March I received a mail saying that the site needed my confirmation in order to authorise payment. I quote:


''As a policy requirement by our banks and financial partners, we request your cooperation in providing us a fax or an e-mail of your latest credit card statement,and scanned copy of front and back side of the card duly signed by you to authorise us to charge the order amount to your credit card.Unquote.


This I found strange since my credit card account was already debited.However,i sent then the details.


THEN , on 10th March I received the following: ''With reference to your above mentioned order number, we have yet not received any reply to the mail sent to you for the high value order confirmation. You are requested to kindly revert to the mail or contact Mr. Samson at phone number 011-23273418. The high value orders are only processed after the confirmation by the customers.''


On receipt of this I sent them the details once again and tried desperately to contact the phone number provided by them.The number was either engaged or no one picked up.Finally on 15th March I got through and was told that my order had been cancelled on 11th of March due to non confirmation.When I asked about reversal of charges, I was told that it would be done within 4 working days starting 11th March.


Today,on 22nd March,several e-mails later I am still awaiting my reversal.If the site wanted confirmation,it should have not debited my card account right away.Their phone number is impossible to get through to and my mails go unanswered.It will be a long time before I make a high value purchase on the net.And on this site,never.
