I ordered a mobile phone after seeing an advt in Times of India. Initially, I visited the suggested website with the idea that I can book the order through credit card. Surprisingly, the cost shown in the website was much higher than the cost advertised!
So, then I called up the number given. The chap at the other end was quite nice. He took the order, gave me the reference no and promised that the instrument would be delivered within one week. My woes started now.
After about three days, I got a mail saying that the item has been shipped and I can track the status. According to the status, it reached Chennai immediately and got frozen in the courier office for more than two days. Then, it informed that an attempt to deliver was made, but the customer was not available. It was a cold lie to cover up their abnormal and continuing delay. We were very much there and in any case, we had even displayed a board saying any courier article can be handed over in the adjacent flat. The courier made several false entries to cover up his slumber and ultimately delivered after about 10 days. Times of India did not bother to take note of this behavior of their courier.
Then the instrument developed fault. Mailed to ToI twice. While the agent and the manufacturer responded within a reasonable time, ToI has still not bothered to reply back. According to the agent, ToI would arrange collection and dispatch to Mumbai. I am just wondering what should I do!
