I am writing to describe the chicanery of an internet based shopping company https://rediff.com, primarily serving Indian customers online. I have been the victim of its deceit. Initially, I had purchased a micro sim cutter for my microsim based smart phone from a seller named Flaunt Corps listed on Rediff shopping website( http://www.shopping.rediff.com/shopping) on March 13, 2015.

The dealer had promised a guaranteed delivery of the product along with two sim adapters. Although the product was delivered on 16 March, there was a missing accessory that was not delivered despite being guaranteed by the vendor to send it along with the product, specified lucidly on the rediff shopping website.

I brought this matter of incomplete delivery to the notice of rediff team, as the rediff portal had a process of bringing up the contentious issue to them instead of taking it up with the vendor. Subsequently, a Ticket number 100336952679 was generated to acknowledge the receipt of this complaint and I was being informed of a speedy resolution of my query by an automated reply from the rediff customer support.

On March 18th, a human reply was received from its representative, a Akshata, promising me that the concerned vendor-Flaunt Corps- had been informed about the incomplete delivery, which would be completed by 24 March at the most.

But this promise left a lot to be desired. When I had received no reply from Akshata by 27 March, I decided to confront the point in question again and demanded a refund of at least 25% of the cost of the product due to non fulfillment of the promise though I had a right to demand a complete refund. To this, next day, Akshata replied to comply with my expectation; however, it demanded to wait for a further two business days as its conjecture was that the product would be going to be consigned soon. I acknowledged this message instantly and stated rediff support team to accomplish their promise.

To my consternation, even after the end of the committed deadline, the lethargic customer support failed to deliver me either the missing part or the promised refund. Obviously, I ended up reiterating the same supplication adding to expedite the whole process.

To this, on April 3, a Digambar, from the rediff support team, assured me to wait for two further business days, after which, he confirmed, Rediff would surely commence the refund process.  Obviously, this promise was not attained and was a prevarication. Once more,  I was being ditched into a hapless situation making fool of by dancing eternally in the palm of rediff's hand.

As my patience was waning fast, I wrote to the rediff team on 4 April about not taking their commitment lightly at that point in time. Nevertheless, rediff customer support decided to turn a blind eye on my pleas and warnings. Still, on April 7th, I gave them a final deadline of resolving my complaint by 9th April. I categorically stated Rediff that If it foundered to comply with its assurances, I would have no option but to go ahead and begin description of the harassment meted out to me by it and flaunt corps.

To this message, till date no reply has been received, indicating that the whole process has been to waste my time and make me give in by frustrating me to the extent that I would ignore the whole process. Even so, I would not go down that easily without exposing the hooligan.

Finally, a word of caution for all the customers interested to buy materials on the rediff shopping site. If I were you, I would definitely steer clear of this fraudster. It blatantly prevaricate and presumptuously claim about its impeccable record, which in fact is pathetic and dismal at best. Not to mention, the website automatically creates a My Page public profile of the customers interested to buy from its site, without prospects' permission and leaks their personal information. Please look away from this website if you want peace of mind.
