I received a mail from rediff on availability of a Children's toy laptop and crazy frog doll for 540 Rs Cash On Delivery (COD). Thinking it will be a good present for my daughter on her birthday I proceeded to order it. There really was no COD. The closest was depositing a cheque at the nearest ICICI ATM. I dropped the crossed cheque one month back and rediff promptly encashed it as per my bank. My daughter's birthday has come and gone. I bought something else from a local shop for her. My order status has been cheque/DD awaited for the last month. Writing to customer support gives you a host of automated mails indicating that the guys at rediff are too busy conning other people like me.
Last Update:
Finally after 4-5 months, customer support got back to me. After a number of iterations they agreed that the money was received. However the article was no longer in stock. They did send me the amount back. However it still was a waste of time.
