I am writing down my own experience ... I don't want to generalise .. My e-mail id is in rediff .. one day while logging in by mail account , I have seen some advt. on rediff shopping where they mention about a very good offer , a Japanese watch for INR250 , door delivery inclusive of tax and delivery charges .. The Watch looked great in photo .... I was planning to buy a new watch and the one in the pic seem to be more or less the one I am lookin for . I ordered for it immediately through my credit card
I got the parcel in time .. and when I opened the box ... I was surprised .. it was a broken watch .. It cannot be called a watch , but a watch broken in to 4-5 pcs .. .. what to do ?? call their customer care .... checked in their website ... no customer care number , only option is to send an e-mail and wait ............ Sent the mail ... waited 1 week ... no reply .. send a reminder.
One more week no reply .. one more reminder ...finally got the reply by e-mail ... Still no contact number ... communiction only through e-mail ... They asked me to send the piece back to them through courier ....... i need to spend money from my pocket to courier that thing back ... checked with the couriers .. first flight , DTDC , Blazeflash .. etc etc .... no one accept watch .. When they see the box , they ask me .. what is inside ? ... A watch !! Sorry we cannot accept ....
Enough head ache .. is there any way to get my money back ???? I don't know ... I the first place no proper contact person .. just an e-mail id ... how do I know I take all the trouble , send this so called watch back .. they are going to replace it with a good one , By going through all these experience I got irritated and lost faith in rediff ...... Ok ... good lesson learned ...let the watch be in dust bin and no more shopping through rediff or any other online shopping portal .... I had enough
