I have been using rediff online shopping on-and-off since 2002. I find it "reasonable" online shopping site for India. I personally feel it needs improvement on customer service and communication. To site the latest example - I ordered product worth 3500 INR and for the same I needed to verifiy that I used my "own" creadit card before request can be processed.
Though the intimation for same was sent to me by email, I would have liked it more if I would have got instant communication by phone. Since I checked my email after 4 days, the delay was inevitable introduced in overall processing time. Besides such small incidence, my experince have been fairly good with Rediff.
Pros -
Good product quality (compared to Indiatimes etc)
Better packaging (than other indian sites)
Good online interface
Cons -
Information on products is minimal
Product range is not that great
Customer service can be improved
Prices are a little higher than Indiatimes (but since I find the packaging and quality better on Rediff, I ignore this point)
Tracking system is not updated
I would recommend shopping on Rediff but would like to see better customer services and wider variety of products.
