Shopper's STOP!!!!. Review on Shoppers Stop, Mumbai

This review is mainly to inform all you MSers out there about my horrible experiences at Shoppers' Stop Andheri (West). The other stores have been quite a pleasure to visit.

Staying just a stone?s throw away from the Andheri branch of Shoppers? Stop I have been visiting the store since its inception in the early 1990?s??Initially the novelty of having a big store in the vicinity encouraged our patronage.

Over the last decade plus, this particular store, their flagship store to be precise has just not evolved with the times. On the contrary, the quality of services as well as goods offered had declined!!

I have been a regular buyer, and a Silver Edge member of their First Citizen?s Club since the last 8/9 years and have found that I end up buying stuff if I visit their stores in Malad, Bandra, Pune, or even Madras wheras more often than not I return empty handed from the store at Andheri.Not only do I feel EVERYTHING is overpriced but in spite of having racks full of just about everything there is nothing which really appeals cause I have been seeing the same things there for years now.

Like a corner family shop they are trying to stuff more and more into the limited area available.There is no attempt to reinvent themselves, or even to present the facade differently.

I am very impressed with the layout of the new store at Malad. The staff there is definitely more courteous than the Andheri store and even the variety, whether in leather goods, apparel or toys is better there and YES (This is a fact )SO ARE THE PRICES.

A Biba branded blouse in the Malad store had a price tag of Rs.995/- It had caught my eye and I was quite determined to have it but due to lack of time to try it on I decided to purchase it from the Andheri store the next day.

To my utter surprise and dismay the same design piece was tagged at 1195/-. I immediately drew the attention of the floor manager towards this discrepancy but he insisted I was mistaken. As I was determined to purchase that particular piece I went to the Biba section at Pantaloons Lower Parel and purchased it for Rs.995/-

I once again drew the floor manager?s attention to this fact about the price discrepancy and informed him that I had bought it for less than their price tag he was very rude so I offered to bring the bill and the piece to prove that they were overpricing designer ware. The very next day that particular range of kurtis had been moved out of stock????

I lost my First Citizen?s Card when I went to vote for the Lok Sabha elections. The very next day I went to Andheri SS and paid the requisite fee of Rs.100.00 for a duplicate card. To date I have not received the card even after repeatedly reminding them about it.

I am given cock and bull stories about the duplicate cards only being issued from Delhi .How long does it take for a card to be issued and dispatched from Delhi? Six months plus?? Since the last one month I am being told (assuming I manage to get through to the exclusive First Citizen telephone no.) the card is with the courier company?????

Now, I have simply stopped going to SS Andheri except to inquire about the FCC card . For all my shopping I go to Westside or Lifestyle stores.
