That is my experiment with you to let you understand how our minds work ? There are some words which initiates chemical reactions in our minds and some words don’t ! Some voices swell inside you feelings and some voices are just hoarse banter.

Know thyself is the first duty you render to yourself, your family, your locality, your community, your city, your state and the country. I see people don’t know themselves and they talk like hot wind. What could be worse disease than that. oh ! these are my private sholays, I meant to keep them to myself, the film under review is as hot as a hot plate.

Actors : Hot Amitabh Bacchan (he was young then) Hot Dharmender, Hot Hema Malini, Hot Amjad Khan, Hot Jaya Bahaduri, Hot sanjeev Kumar, Hot Sachin, Hot Asrani, Hot Jagdeep, Hot kaalia, Hot Sambha and put them all together with Saleem-Javed and the best music ever produced for a Hindi Motion Picture till date, what do you get, this is the recipe to produce SHOLAY.

SHOLAY was hot, till date no heat ever came near this classic motion picture. Will you like to be received by a fast talking Basanti on your arrival at railway station, if she is something like Hema Malini, I will go to all villages in India just to see a tongawali like Basanti. Are you afraid of Gabbar from the ravines of Chambal ? Yes dacoits were real those days ! Have you seen the life very closely and became a silent brooding man like Jay ? Yes there were men like him. Will you be adventure seeking like Veeru ? Yes all Hyderabad people are like him, specially when it is a matter of impressing girls, beautiful girls, even if they have to hold a microphone from behind a temple to impress the girl, they will do it !!.

Characters are real in sholay, a motion picture becomes memorable for its characters, the great director of this movie made every character memorable and some immortal. As long as Hindi film industry will live, characters of sholay will have their mark on all actors. Sholay dialogues were a cult in my days, Sholay dialogues made acts of many comedians memorable, Sholay dialogues made many TV serials and stage shows come alive. Ajeeb baat hai Mousi, mere itna samjhanay par bhi aap nay na kardi, Sipahiyoo adhay eidhar jaoo, adhay udhar jaoo aur bakhi kay mere saath aaoo. Aaaj mein pochoonga Salim-Javed say mujhe Sholay mein hero ka role kyun nahi diya.

Yeah Goodbye kya hota hai, jab angrez log martay hai to goodbye kahtay hai !! be it the background sounds heard when Gabbar Singh graces the screen, be it the sounds made my kid-goats in the village, be it the laughter of Gabbar and his gang, this film was perfect in the most perfect sense, the songs, Mahbooba-Mahbooba, Aoo jab tak hai jan, Yeah dosti hum nahi chooradangay, Koyee hasina jab rooth jaati hai to, all are beautiful songs lending great structure to our film.

The plot is so good everyone sitting in the theater could become a part of the plot, who will not sympathize with Sanjeev Kumar, who will not hate Gabbar Singh, who will not like to be Veeru and Jay, who will not enjoy life like Basanthi. Silent love of Jaya was well sketched, every piece of film reel is well utilized in this film. We must be proud of Sholay.

ekta_unity was well presented in our film Sholay, there was the village people joining hands all together to defend their village come what may come, that is the spirit to fortify the homes and a country, whenever I see a film dealing with village life, there is a portrait of Harijan folks, the beauty of our film Sholay was all were united in one common goal. Amjad Khan was a very handsome man in his days, Sholay was the break he got and utilized this film to the full extent possible. No actor benefited so much from his first film as much as Amjad Khan.

Lot of people passed away from then to now, but this film retains its value of entertainment and its value in the art of motion film making. Lets celebrate the talents we have in India, they all are reaching maturity, lets absorb as much as possible from these giants of talent and retain it to pass it to the generations to come. Generation next is slowly reaching a point of saturation and when that point is reached we will start copying other country motion pictures then we will become empty containers. Before that stark reality hits us, lets incubate home talents and lets revere them. It is about time we honor members on mouthshut like ekta_unity.
