I think sometimes people got mad over something and started calling a rubbish and garbage thing a classic, be it the 50 cents songs full of mother n sister abuses, or the stupid and useless fashion accessories. The movie that I have seen being soooooo much overhyped in all of the bollywood history is this rubbish, childish, immature and good for nothing stupid action drama sholay. I bet that Mithun's b or c class films can easily compete with sholay or even can beat it.
The songs r stupid barring mehbooba number that was just slightly above average. 'Yeh dosti' is a plain mediocre song that is overhyped God knows for what reason.
Performances are melodramtic and overacting is at its best. The mousi proposal scene is an ordinary scene that is called classic for some strange reasons. the overacted performed 'kitni aadmi thaey' amjad khan dialogue was plain and senseless but is a cult God knows for what kind of illetrate minds.
Script is poor and kiddish, plz dont say now that it was made 30 years ago, 'shatranj ke khiladi' , arth and many other superbly scriptted movies were also relaeased in that era and those films had an awesome script, .
Treatment was also bad and jerky. I understand the entertaining thing but I am sorry this film is not at all engtertaining but gets on teh nerves of every sensible person. I feel pity for those who accept craps lihe sholay just because of media hype.
U know filmfare had given only editing award to this piece of junk, so that says it all.... classic... my foot
