Shirdi – Saibaba

Shirdi has changed so much in last few years. A building has been made just for the devotees to stand in queue and avoid the sun & rains. It takes around 2-3 hours to cross to get the darshan. Numbers of devotees have tremendously increased. Peak days are Thursday and Sunday. The other days it is not so crowded and one can do darshan in maybe an hour also. While the devotees are standing in queue they can watch the live darshan of Saibaba through the CC-TVs fixed in the hall, where one can get to see Saibaba Idol, Pandits doing pooja, offering bhogs, daily poojas, devotees offering flowers, etc. with help of CC Tv the devotees who are far way from the main room still can get to see “Saibaba Idol”.

We are a group of friends who go always together for Shirdi darshan. We leave mostly on Saturday from Mumbai and return on Sunday nights. I believe in one thing is that Saibabaji should call for you, if his bulava is not there then you will not be able to make the trip to Shirdi. (Just a belief that I have in my mind). I believe strongly in Sai, Even if I get 30 sec glimpse of him for darshan I feel I am fortunate.

After morning darshan we head towards Shani-Shingnapur. It is a very powerful place to worship. Especially for the people whose Sade-Satii is on. There only men are allowed to do the pooja and women can stand outside and worship but not allowed to enter the area where the Shani god is kept. Men have to take a quick shower den wear a saffron colour dhoti. Men pour Til oil on Shanigod. It seems this brings down the anger of Shanigod. Even this place has been renovated lately. There is proper arrangements to park your cars plus those illegal shops are removed and also long corridors are constructed in case of peak times the devotees can stand under a roof and avoid the heat, sun, rains.

These trips remove your stress and also weekend is spent with friends. We get a chance to enjoy and chill out.

To bolo Shirdi Saibaba ki jai.
