Shimoga is popularly known as cultural capital of Karnataka.
I like traveling so once I and my friends planned to visit Shimoga.I had heard many about this place especially it's natural beauty.
This district is situated in the centre of Karnataka.It is locate 275 km from Bangalore.We booked one traveller and went to this place.
You can also go through train.There are many trains from Mangalore and Bangalore.There are many places for visiting so we all were confused from where we should start.At last we started from jog falls.
It is one of the famous fall of Karnataka this is so beautiful.A part from this fall there are also some tourist attraction including Shivapaa Nayaka Palace, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Lion Safari, Elephant Camp, Lakxmi Narshimha temple, Chakra dam etc.all are very nice.
Elephant camp is very interesting and different.I have never seen this type of camp where all elephants take their bath and proceed to near by forest for their round after 10 Am so tourist should reach this camp before 9 Am.
Overall it is a worth visiting place.
I would like to recommend to visit this place once.
There are also nice hotels for accommodation.
People should try this place it will be great fun and make sure that plan for at least one week because it is huge area.
