At Shikara's the crowd is like really really rich and I guess there good eaters too. Shikara's has a unique selling point, something that I havn't really figured out yet. Although at one time I used to eat out almost everyday I never really felt like going there every day, cuase its those kind's of places you would like to reserve for a special ocassion.
I went with a friend at Shikara, picured beside me and here it goes...The place is always full in the evenings, there are about 3 rised platforms in the center over water bodies!! who are full of ducks and swan's Believe it!! You look down and you see ducks and that's really really exciting. The ambience is very nice although the incredible number of people might just try to kill the spirit but it never actually does.
Shikara's got a exceptional menu great food and great prices too, after don't think all this comes cheap right! For large corwds there are floor seatings where you get that incredible hard to get home feeling, you sitting on the floor with your friends or family and having a great time on the floor and there are live gazals been sung or played of the audio sets, and you see the cooks at the tandoor doing their job with exceptional grace and interest. The place also has Jotishi's and mehendi artist's I still have to tell you its kinda expensive for me at least. A descent dinner for 2 costed me 550/- and also left me with a little emptiness inside.
The place is kind of fortified and that gives you that closed NEW WORLD feeling which is really good at times. So let loose and break free and go to Shikara's...
