I stay in South Kolkata and the distance between my home and Dumdum Airport is almost 25 km. It often takes 2 and half hours to cover up the distance, thanks to the traffic jam anyways.
I Visited Sheelas alone on my way back to Home from the airport. Actually, I went to the Airport to send off all my family members to another City for a family gathering, the flight was not on time, so when I managed to come out from the airport once the flight took off, it was around 5 PM. We had a brief lunch at home before going to Airport around 11 AM. So, I was really hungry.
Instead of going back to my work place directly, I opted to have some snacks first. Home was not at all a choice in this condition when I am alone. So, I got in to the Seelas. I had no ideas about this eating place before.
It is located on Jessore Road, just very near to Airport Gate No 2. So. I parked my car in front of the restaurant, as there was no parking zone for the same and checked in.
The ambiance is simple, nothing fancy, usual ordinary restaurant, and with out A/C too. Anyways, the weather was not that hot during this time, I asked for the menu card.
Like a usual multi cuisine restaurant, it has so many items listed on the menu. I did not want to experiment much. I simply ordered my favorite Chicken Chowmin as it would stay in the stomach up to 11 PM, till I get in to my home.
The order taken and the food arrived with in 15 minutes, so turn around time is OK. But, the chowmin was really very very bad in taste. The chicken pieces in it also seemed to be 4 days old with layer on them. I did not like the taste and even could not complete the dish. I felt so bad, I had to take antacid later at night. I entered to this place as it was nearby, but this was a bad decision. Prices were also no less. I could enjoy the better quality dish in an A/C environment in the same price.
So, I can not recommend this place, nothing special with it.
