Shaurya, A film that dewlls into the many a times ventured territory of the Indian Army and its being.
Shaurya is a film based on the backdrop of Indian Defence system, but instead of heroics this time, the film deals with the repremand of an Army Officer, a Court Martial on the conviction of him being charged for the murder of a fellow Army Officer, A senior to be precise.
Capt Javen Khan( Raju Dobriyal) is charged for the murder of Maj. Rathore. He is charged of killing the senior officer from a Point Blank Range and then ending up being arrested by fellow officers at the scene of crime itself.
Siddhhant( Rahul Bose) is appointed as the Officer to Plead Capt Javed guilty as everyone felt that it was an OPEN n SHUT case. Rahul Bose goes to the camp to just do that. Meets Capt Javed and Meets his long time lost friend Kavya Shahtri( Minissha Lamba) there who is working as a new correspondant in the valley. After meeting these 2 people, donno what he strikes his mind in the court of defence officers, that instead of pleading Capt Javed guilty, he pleads him Not Guilty.
Akash( Javed jaffery) who recommended Shidhant for the Plead Guilty Lawyer gets shocked by the response of him. he decided to take up the case against Sidhant.
In the mean while Sidhant Meets a couple of people Like the Dead officers Wife Neerja( Amrita Rao) and Capt Virendar Pratap( KK Menon) who was the senior of the dead officers. From the meeting with The wife of the officer, he judges something is worng. In the meanwhile with the help of his journalist friend Kavya he gets a very important lead in Maj RP Singh who was one of the prime witnesses of the crime and he finally comes to know the truth behind the crime.
He movies forwards to make Right. the Right and then follows up with his successful attempt to get Javed Khan regain his honor and Integrity and SHAURYA .
Verdict: A gripping film which is full of awesome performances and no bullshitting at all.
Performances:
Each and every performance of the film is praiseworthy, but if I had to choose a Show stealer - It wud be Rahul Bose. God knows when will this person not act well. He never has disspointed and he carries the trend here as well. A Top performance which deserves nothing less than 5/5.
KK Menon - The length of the role may not be too much, but the impact is full on. As the Brigadier with a lot of Attitute and Pride, he oozes confidence and proves yet again that he is a wonderful actor.
Javed Jaffery - One performances that Javed can remember all his life is this one. This is Javed's best performance ever. His diction is perfect and the voice modulation is so gopod that keeps u thinking - wish he played Akbar instead of that sqqeaky voice fella.
Raju Dobriyal is brilliant yet again. Though he isnt given same scope as he was given in Omkara and 1971 but still he manages to emote a lot without speaking.

Amrita Rao - Very good!
Overall - A film which reveals the truth and corruption in the Indian Army. A tru gem and a must watch for everyone.
Rating - 5 out of 5 from me.
