This movie, for ignoramuses, is a shamelessly plagiarized version of the awesome A Few Good Men..The cosmetic changes like the friendship between the prosecution & defense are downright unnecessary..And even the done to death Hindu-Muslim angle in the "plot"..Rahul Bose is not suited for such dramatic roles.Just lacks the personality needed for these roles. He is an over-rated actor. Ppl in India seem to believe that just coz he does offbeat cinema, that makes him a good actor by default, which is clearly not the case. KK Menon was awesome. Minisha, the lesser said the better.
Actually all our actresses(with some exceptions like Tabu) are mere glam props, yet they have the audacity to claim hits as their own. Most of these ppl in the film "industry" are plainly in the wrong profession(Arjun Rampal, Emraan Hashmi, Sunil Shetty, Celina, Katrina, I could go on forever coz there's a new fool everyday).Case in point - Farah Khan's moronic attempts at direction(which turn out to be hits!)..Akshay Kumar having 4 hits last year, inspite all of them being horrible movies..Makes me think that the fault lies with our public, who are just too used to mediocrity..How else can a dud like OSO outdo movies like Juno, The Departed, Cheeni Kum etc? Guess our ppl r too dumb to understand wat good cinema is.
But they should stop encouraging this trash that Bollywood keeps churning out.I have personally sent msgs to all my friends asking them not to watch Shaurya but A Few Good Men..Our film "critics" give Shaurya a 4-star rating without even a mention of AFGM..Most ppl will not even have heard of this movie I guess so ignorance is bliss..But having watched the original, I feel that in AFGM, even the legal aspect was researched very well, not the case in Shaurya at all..In AFGM, Nicholson's admission that he ordered the Code Red directly exonerated the 2 junior officers...Even some of the dialogues have been just translated into Hindi!!
I guess ignorance really is bliss for our half-witted audiences..
PS - I have mentioned the best part of the movie in my review as the ending coz its really the best part - the end to 2 hours of suffering a blatant, poorly made copy.
My point about our moronic audiences has been validated by all previous reviews on this film on this site & everywhere else..If you want a honest review read Rajeev Masand's review on https://ibnlive.com...
