I was longing for a good movie quite sometime. Monday being a holiday here decided to revive my college memories with a morning show. There was no second thought on the movie. Good luck also seemed promising, got tickets easily.

Ahh… such an amazing bungee jumping! Before even I could digest the gun shot in a rainy night. Some detail provided on screen on date, time & place.

Rahul portray the humor naturally. Sid [may be Rahul Bose loved his on-screen name in Pyar ka Side Effect], a happy go lucky guy, loves to enjoy life without getting into the reality of life. The gradual conversion of ‘who cares’ Sid into a committed & intense Major Siddhant is just superb.

Javed Jaffrey is radiant as Akash - the prosecution lawyer. I was with ‘why he’ note at the beginning. But realized he is the right selection for the role. He is impressive not as an ‘just engaged guy’ - obediently learning how to marinate chicken from his would be FIL or an  insistent officer handling prosecution but also as good dost who can not say no to his buddy. Hope he is planning to hold his image.

K K Menon is dazzling as usual. He is a simply brilliant and magnificent as Brigadier Rudra Prasad. His passion for Original Malt, classic is as strong as his character Pratap. How an incident can change one’s approach to life is conveyed well by KK.

The new guy, in Javed’s role is restricted to some extend, but he leaves a deep impression with the least dialogue. His straight expression and the conceit which he conveys himself throughout are incomparable.

Amrita, with a next door girl impression portrays well the pain of an arrogant and success hunger’s widow. Chota Chengis Khan, the small is boy is bubbly, representing innocence.

Rahul Bose gets a posting in Srinagar to handling the defense for an open and shut case, but busy dreaming about the adventures on sky of Kashmir. But gradually gets seriously involved in the case he realizes that the truth is not as simple as it is been depict. He gets into the root of the case with the help of a ‘khsetriya sambad-data’ Kaavya. The case is about Captain Javed Khan, charged with the murder of a senior officer in Punj and has to undergo court martial. In order to impress the lady reported Sid unknowingly communicates his no-knowledge on the case. To cover up the consequences he ends up visiting the crime scene and meets Brigadier Pratap. The story is based around Sid’s getting serious about the case & nailing the truth.

The item song or the other tracks are melodious. The flow of the movie is well controlled with incidents like – calling a pandit midnight to conduct a wedding or the host getting into the disco leaving invitees to take care of themselves.

Few dialogues like ‘array yeh koi Hindi movie hai kya, jo khali militants hi marta hai aur army walon ko kuch nehi hota hai’ / ‘Small town achievers’ – are going to be in air for sometime for sure.

Shaurya, for me it is a movie much above than the masala ones -**dealings with a serious theme without intruding much on Deshprem & anti terrorism caused by our beloved neighbor nation. Truly represented in its name IT TAKES COURAGE TO MAKE RIGHT…RIGHT!
