As more and more people are working away from home in different cities, we have noticed a lot of private tour operators thriving on the need for us to travel. Though they have mastered the art of minting money from frequent travellers, when it comes to customer etiquettes and behaviour towards customers they are absolutely pathetic. They have misbehaving staff who speak in the most uncivilized and rash manner and behave as if they are obliging the customers by taking their money and giving them a ride.
They really don't care about giving proper customer service. I had a similar experience with Sharma Travels recently and I thought if I could raise my voice against these uncouth tour operators then we could together make them change there attitude and improve there services and customer indisposition. I work in Bangalore and frequently travel between Hyderabad and back, so this time I took ticket from Sharma Travels and paid for it (as in realizing my mistake).
The bus was supposed to be departing at 10:00 PM sharp and there was no sign of the bus even at 10:30, me and my family members who came to see me off were waiting patiently for the bus, I repeatedly called Sharma Travels office but most the time the call was not recieved or answered by some idiot who didn't have the manners to use proper phone etiquettes and all he was saying was 5 mins and there was no sign of the bus. At around 10:45 PM the bus finally the bus came and I was carrying the portable T.V. with me and was asking the Bus cleaner about where I can keep it, meanwhile the driver shouting at me to board the bus in a very rude manner as if the bus got delayed because of me.
In that confusion I got aboard the bus and kept my T.V. at my seat and was about to get down the bus to say good bye to my family the driver started the bus. I requested the driver to just give me half minute to say good bye to my family as my Mom & Dad along with my fiancé has come to see me off for the first time. I couldn’t finish what I have said and the driver started shouting at me using all the possible abusive languages and also threatening to throw me out of the bus. I asked him is this the way to talk to a customer to which he replied that it his bus and he chooses the way on how he talks and behaves. Even I was very much angered and hurt at his behavior but I couldn’t do anything as it was very important for me to get to Bangalore.
So I just remained silent and got back to my seat. Next day the first thing I did was call up Sharma and complaint them about the driver’s behavior and to my disappointment, my complaint were received in a very uninterested fashion and the person who was on the phone was talking to everybody than listening to me and finally he said come to our office in Hyderabad and we will look into it. To which I told them that I work in Bangalore and its not possible to me to visit them personally even in month’s time as I won’t get leaves. The person on the phone replied that it’s not his problem and said whenever I come to Hyderabad I can visit them personally and they will take up the matter from there and I could hear the laughter of his colleagues in the background followed by him hanging up. I seriously ask all of you people not to tolerate such kind of behavior and really teach them a lesson by not taking Sharma Travel’s services.
