Drinking doesn't make you fat. It makes you lean.

against bars, tables, chairs and poles!*

" Sharaabi" is one film which I openly recommend to all people who:

  1. Enjoy drinking of any kinds!

  2. Love/like/admire Amitabh Bachhan

  3. Enjoy Bappi Da's music

  4. Just watch a film to enjoy and have a good time

So in case you are one or four of the above.read on! This film is a story about Vicky( the only thing that I did not like), a spoilt son who is rich, single and living a life of comfort. He loves his drinks and his men.now before you start off on a different track, I mean he love the people who work for him professionally and personally. The film revolves around him and his father, his love interest and his life.

The characterisation of a lot of characters in the film is commendable. Amitabh as Vicky looks every bit like a spoilt son but he is not spoilt in nature. He blames his father for everything( like all rich sons do!) but he does'nt thankfully drive on bylanes and kill men who sleep on roads( unlike rich sons!). He is a man of large drinks and a big heart!

Pran as Vicky' dad is a tough materialistic dad who leads a life of a busy businessman and a non existent dad. Jaya Prada as the love interest, Ranjeet as villian andNathulal( I was missing on the name but finally someone helped me.Mukhree that is!) for humor completes the character sketch of the film. Who can forget the good old Omprakash as the affable Munshiji. The film touches on emotions of love, companionship and friendship beautifully and shows that it is not blood relations only that matter. Who can forget the constant banter betwen Amitabh and Natwarlal on his famous moustaches." Moochein hon toh nathulal kee jaisi warna na ho!"

The music of the film is fun too! I love all the songs and thankfully they are not Bappi Da style. Infact I was amazed that he wrote the music for this one."De de pyar de, Intehaan ho gayi." are songs that are fun and apt! The picturisation of these songs make me smile even now.!

"Sharaabi" is a sure recommendation to one and all.for people like us who are always drunk on life, this re-instates our beliefs on life.! Alcohol or drugs is not the only way of "feeling high".life gives you many more "better" options in life.rash driving, rave parties and one night stands( debatable though!) are not the best of options:-) Positive state of mind, friends and love of being alive gives a better kick!

Examples of rich brats killing people on roads each day or getting caught in rave parties makes me rethink on values of life.life was never easy, for any of us. but to mess it up like this, need guts.and absolute dettachment towards life and its gifts! God bless those souls who are rich in money but not in spirits;-)

I somehow do not preach a lot.because it means practising things which I may not like.but yes getting high on life is a self bragged habit.which can be preached:) Just wanted to share my thoughts on the film in a way which does'nt recco drinking but the spirit of life! Enjoy!
