Shane Warne the leading wicket taker in the world cricket the best legspinner the world has ever produced a person who has the ability to turn the ball even on the glass.All these words have just become history as the latest tag being added is bad!!!
Shane Warne has always been in the middle of controversies right from when he started his career as the leg spinner for Austrailia.He is considered to be the perfect guru for any youngster aiming to become a world class legspinner.His delivery whicch he bowled to Mike Gattin ,the then skipper of England.The ball was spun outside the legstump and spun viciously to knock down his leg stump.that delivery is called as the 'ball of the century'by most of the cricket veterans.inspite of all this qualities of a gr8 spinner in 1998 he alonwith Mark waugh was accused of accepting money from an Indian bookmaker to provide the pitch and the weather informationwhich they later confessed to have done so.The Austrailian Cricket Board tried their level best to hide the issue by just penalising them for a few bucks and closing down the issue.in short the matter was totally manhandled .
In another incident he was involved in an assault with a british nurse for which he had to pay a huge price in losin the vice captaincy of the national team which was handed over to Adam Gilchrist.
and the last but of course not the least he had been tested positive for taking a drug that is banned in cricket by the International Cricket Council.He had to leave the Austrailian team before the start of the world cup and return back to home.For this conduct he has been banned for 12 months from playing any kind of cricket.12 MONTHS is of course not a very long time but a person who is 34 yrs of age and wont play cricket for 1 whole year is this going to be the end of the illustrious career of this great sportsperson????the question needs to be answered.Here also the cricket board just went along the rules that a person should be banned frm cricket for consumin the banned drug which is normally used to mask the other banned drugs.which he did it unknowingly.
A person of such great records being banned for 12 months is totally weird.I would have expected a much linient punishment to him as that would just help him play for a few more months befor he finally calls it a day.the way that the cricketers jonty rhodes and shane warne gave up cricket was not expected by any of us atleast during the world cup.we as fans would just be waiting for his return to harass the batsman on any ground.lets seeee!!!!!!!
