He is back, the 007 of fast bowling. Do you know him? Yes he is the fastest legitimate bowler in Cricket today.

I don’t know whether he is as fast as he was, but hope that he has fully recovered from Injury and is back with a bang!! He has made a remarkable comeback with the Man of the match and Man of the series performance.

What makes him so special and why have we forgotten him.

Complete fast Bowler: He is the bowler you would love to watch no matter for which team he is playing because he brings old world charm to fast bowling. I am sure Ian Bishop and Michael Holding as commentators will agree to that. He is legitimate that is his action is correct unlike Bret Lee and Shaoib Akhtar. He has the silken run up with lethal pace.

Devastating effect; He causes nightmares to Batsman with his devastating pace and in dipping Yorkers. The best of the Batsman like Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid, Michael Vaughan have struggled against him and they always want to see him off. He is very difficult to read off his hand which makes it very tough on the Batsman.

Bouncers; The policeman can sting some lovely bouncers just there on the ribs which reminds you of the great Andy Roberts. He will mix this nicely with a stump rattler.The most important part is he is not wayward. His line will be on the stump. There are occasions when he gives full length for you to score boundaries but you are not prepared.

Aussies doom: He is the one bowler who makes the Aussies weary after Richard Hadlee, the world cup and their clashes with New Zealand are a testimony to that.He could rattle their top order in the matter of 5-6 overs in half hour period which no other bowler has accomplished in the recent past.

Most unfortunate for Cricket; The two injuries with stress fracture to his back and foot has robbed us of more than 2 years of watching this wonderful bowler performing. He is the rare gift like a beautiful rose and when it gets tampered it really hurts. Some experts blame it on his technique, but fate played its part on the fast bowler. It is true that bowling really fast takes many years of cricket from you and he started this at the age of 18.He missed a glorious opportunity in the world cricket as well as with Warwickshire and he would have gained immensely with Bob Woolmer.

One great thing about Bond is his mind and aggression as fast bowler is so good that he can see eye to eye at the batsman and come back with a beauty which is not the case with Lee or Shaoib as they do not have so much quality in them except speed and occasional chucking.

Really hope he does not fall back on injury after this long lay off & planned recovery. He may not be as fast he was.We need him for the sheer joy of cricket & the correct way of fast bowling.

Watch out India for forthcoming One Dayers in Zembabwe. They will have fond memories of Bond in terrible conditions in New Zealand.
