Just came back from the first show of the movie and to my surprise it was pretty good .After a series of melodramatic movies, Sunil Darshan goes the hip-hop way and he succeeds partly .
PLOT-
Bobby Deol is a singer and composer who is at a peak of his career, and he would do anything in his power to maintain his position at the top spot.
Upen Patel is his aspirant. He is fond of singing and composing musical dramas. But his talent is still untapped. He yearns to be where Bobby is is. That is, at the pinnacle of success.He is love with the budding Singer Kangana
But Bobby’s position is threatened when upen hits it big time on the music circuit. Bobby plans a game to retain his position.
In terms of a story Sunil Darshan has clearly ripped off hollywood movie AMEDAUS but manages to capture the look and feel of that film with a indian touch. He also adds a LOT of style and gloss to the movie. There is a certain aura of coolness about the film that strikes you from the very first scene.But some scenes in the first half could be deleted to make the film a lil fast paced.r .
cast performance:
Upen Patel -delivers a commendable performance in a difficult role. The actor WHO was akward in 36 CHINA TOWN and NAMASTEY LONDON manages to hold on his own here . He is no doubt improving with every film. His facial expressions have improved remarkably as well.
Bobby Deol -is in full STYLE here and delivers a convincing and likeable performance. He lends maturity to his role and suits his part to a T. Its a welcome change to see him in negative role
Kangana Ranawat.the girl is on fire after WOH LAMHE and GANGSTER. Although her role here is not as complex as wl nor does it offer her as much scope as GANGSTER-she still gives a likeable performance.Her screen presence and style is fantastic throughout.
Celina- looks absolutely stunning yet again her character does not have sufficient footage at all to perform.
The music in the film is a highlight.The choreography is absolutlely wonderful.
overall-go for it.
