*Shah Rukh Khan . or King Khan as some media have forcefully tried
to popularise him as, has no doubts given the Indian audience many
hits. He has proved to be very versatile and has tried his hands on
different kinds of roles. He has a pretty decent fan following as well.
He has the wit and the ability to make some women cry with his acting
capabilities. Then what is it, if at all anything, that still holdshim back?*
SRK as he is called in short has seen a long and successful career graph and
what he lacks in his voice( which is too shaky ) he makes up
by the good relations he keeps with the right kind of directors.
But what really holds him back is his attitude.
As a great Indian thinker had once said, a mind is like a tree. It stands
tall and free when there is nothing( no knowledge) in it but as it
grows fruits it is bound to bend down or it will break.
This is one of the most important lessons a man should learn. When a man
knows nothing, he can afford to be carefree and loose. But as his efforts
begin to bear fruit he has to eventually become humble. He should know that
he needs to show respect to the seniors in his field. He needs to know the
fact that heroes dont stay forever. He might be faring well now( actually
its on the decreasing end) but years later if people are to remember him
they will remember his personality .
As he himself had admitted in an interview with the Times of India, after
blabbering so much about how good he was, that it was becoming more and more
hard for him to keep up with the current audience he let his attitude kick
in again and this time he was hell bent upon proving himself as good an
actor( if not better) as Amitabh Bachchan .
Now the big B as he is called, not just for his unmatched acting talents but
also for his height and his larger than life image has a different personality
altogether . The fact that every Indian irrespective of his / her religion is
in love with him. His very presence, from his very battle to bring his family back
from bankruptcy after his production company failed to work to being one of the
highest paid Indian actor at an age closing to 70 again has humbled us all.
He hardly ever speaks of himself, is always nice to everyone no matter how big
or small a person might be. He speaks to everyone as if he / she were his own
people. I remember that in an interview Anjad Khan( who started his career as
a villain in the movie Sholay with the Big B) had said that while shooting
everyone complained of the temperature, dirt the surroundings, the food but
the Big B didnt say a word. He just kept on cooperating with the director
. ate whatever was available and sat quitely on his chair while the others
kept whining. Now thats a superstar .!
We can all clearly make out the staged audience in KBC, the show SRK is
hosting which the Amitabh Bachchan used to once host. The reactions look
so made up, the hosting is so much copied from the previous hostin comparison
with the reactions which came in . in the Big B's times came directly from
the audience's hearts. Who can forget the way the whole nation praid for his
life when he met a near fatal accident in the movie Coolie.
. what you have to remember SRK is Irrespective of whatever remakes of the
old Big B movies you work in, irrespective whatever you do to try and ape
the Big B, at the most you will be the second best.
Why .? Coz Those are really big shoes you are trying to fill with your teeny
legs of yours King Khan.
