Saturday evening I saw Shabd and I thought I would share something about it with you all.

The movie has a superb star cast where you can see the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai in a killing performance. Sanjay Dutt, Shaukat Vashisht, a famous author and the husband of ,Antara (Aish) is critisized by the media for the unrealistic view that his earlier novel presented.

So this time Shaukat wants to take on the challenge and prove to the world that his characters are for real. He uses the power of words. He starts to write the story of Tamanna (un-identified female in his imagination).

The theme of the novel being ''To Do The Unforbidden''. He wants her to live her life without any boundaries, without any strings of relationships. He wants her to live her dream life. He wants her to do all that what she was till now afraid to do. He wants her to fly, and fly so high and feel it.

He wants Tamanna to find a special person in life and fall in love with that person, but is unable to pen down his feelings. At this time Aish comes to the rescue. She tells Shaukat about this new photography teacher, Yash (Zayed Khan) and all his stupid jokes and tells him that she hates him. That's when Shaukat realizes that Antara must get close to Yash.

So he pushes Aish to have friendship with Yash. And the state of the mind of Shaukat has been perfectly portrayed by the dialogue ?Kahin tumhe yeh to nahi lagta ki tumhe Yash se pyar ho jayega. Kya tumhe khud par vishwas nahi hai?? This dialogue truly depicts the immense faith that Shaukat has on his beautiful wife.

He does not allow Antara to tell Yash that she is married to Shaukat and all this time Yash has this perception that she is un-married and is the girl of his dreams. Shaukat forces Antara to go out with Yash. And just before the half time he identifies Tammana as none other than Antara herself and is caught in dilemma that what he is doing? He can't do this to his wife.

But this is what Gladiators and Authors have in common. They challenge their own power to alter reality and obviously relationships suffer. The second half of the story I am not revealing in this review. See it for yourself. If you can understand the movie, you will have only praises for the movie when you come of the theatre, otherwise as everyone else, you will also say it?s a boring movie. Try to understand what the director wants to portray.

The end of the movie was un-expected even for me, but I feel it does make sense. It takes a lot to be in that position that position and Sanjay Dutt has done justice with the role offered to him. The soundtrack of the movie is also mind boggling. You might feel that you have heard this theme somewhere else also, but it is not the case. My favorite is ?Khoya Khoya?.

A very different kind of a movie that you don?t get to see every other Friday. Do watch it !!!
