I upgraded the account to premium after accepting my proposal by a member, then her contact mobile number got revealed to me. when I called on that number a girl asked my shaadi.com profile ID(in very professional manner), however even after sending my ID via SMS, she told in very harsh language that not to communicate her henceforth. So guys it is completely fake profiles, first they will accept your proposal and once you pay money for upgrading the account to communicate them, they reject you.
Complete waste of money as well as they are playing with our emotions.
Better way is to really search for free kind of matrimonial sites.
Other thing to note that, for your free shaadi.com account your name is visible to all members, therefore, create your account with same name / ID with another social network web sites(e.g. facebook, orkut or so), so if someone is really genuine on Shaadi.com he/she will try to search and contact you on social websites, if not then understand it is fake account by Shaadi.com which is forcing you to upgrade and pay money for nothing.(this is thing I missed to do in my case).
