Ridiculous, quirky, funny . Review on Shaadi No. 1

The film Shaddi no 1 is an excruciatingly ridiculous film and also a very funny one. It is a straight comedy and it delivers constantly.

The film is about three friends Raj (Fardeen Khan), Veer (Zayed Khan) and Aryan (Sharman Joshi), in the beginning of the film they all attempted to carry out suicide attempts but failed, they then come across another man Mr. Kothari (Satish Shah) who was attempting suicide deciding not to give him the pleasure of escaping this world when they had not succeeded they save his life. He tells them the 3 problems he has with his company products and h solves their unemployment problems too by giving them jobs. While trying to ask for a pay rise they see him trying to carry out another suicide attempt, he informs them he has another three problems his three daughters who insist on love matches. Aryan hits up on a scheme to use three guys to make his daughters fall in love then break their hearts so that the daughters in a fit of heartbreak would acquiesce to an arranged match. Kothari then blackmails the three of them into being the guys to seduce his daughters and since the guys weren’t getting much love and action at home it didn’t take much convincing. The guys went to a very country and in series of ridiculously funny hero events made the girls fall in love with them. The girls decided to follow them back to India when they went. The guys then decided to convince their wives to allow them to marry second wives. On getting home they meet lucky (Sanjay Dutt) who all the wives describe as a distant relation. This was surprising as the wives weren’t related. Lucky then forced himself into their houses and made their lives miserable. He destroyed their humorous attempts to convince their wives to allow them to marry second wives, this prompted them to have illicit affairs which Lucky was insistent on revealing to their wives. All this leads to the predictable end of another suicide attempt by the guys and forgiveness by their wives.

Zayed Khan acted very well, his performance was tops as usual and it was better that he is one of those actors that can make you laugh. Fardeen although not a very funny person outdid himself in this film as he was able to make us laugh. Sharman Joshi too was at the top, he was very funny. This three guys help to develop the humor in the film. Sanjay Dutt got his role as the devil in the house very well which is not surprising as he is not a stranger to comedy (munabhai m.b.b.s).This film is not meant to be taken seriously and it is a must watch for any comedy lover.
