''The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens'' -- by Sean Covey

-------------------------------------------------------------

I recently purchased this book, though quite costly, but useful

for a life time. This book is written by Sean Covey, son of

Stephen R.Covey who wrote ''The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People''.

Most of you may have read that book. I didn't. But I picked the

book on Teens by his son, Sean, and came to know about them.

As the title says, this book is for Teens. But when I looked the

index of this book, I felt that this is actually a book for those

who are Teens at the Heart. Now what does that mean.

In everyone's life, Teenage is the age full of energy, goals and

dashing spirit. Whether the goal is related to education, sports,

adventure or even making girl friends. When the teenage passes,

you still have new goals. Now, a job matters. When you get the job,

your life with the life partner matters. We see that goals never finish.

The practical techniques and real stories by real teens covered in the

book will guide you to some of the important habits, which if

cultivated properly, will give a health harvest in the future.

Teenage is the age when habits for a life time start growing.

Whether bad or good, but definitely for the life time. Some of the

bad habits like drugs, laziness, procrastinating tasks, and others

not to mention, are such that if not carefully judged at that time,

will create deep-seated roots in the life.

This book, written by a recent teen himself, teaches how to cultivate

some good habits and eradicate some unwanted ones. The best thing I

found in this book, and which created a reason to purchase this book,

is the real stories of real teens, illustrating how they solved the

problems. Every chapter completes with Baby Steps, which, as the name

suggests, guide you lightly as to how to apply the techniques you

learned in the chapter. It gives you a little homework. You will

also enjoy the cartoons in the book.

It is a book written for modern teens. You will enjoy the flow of

the book. Some of the illustrations are of the author himself and

of his real life experiences when he was a teen.

This book will teach you how to make (and of what kind of) relation

with your parents, friends, and with other people out there. How

you can prove useful at home, at job and on dating as well. I was

really amazed to see latest trend covered in the book, viz.,

how to be successful in dating. The author himself discusses his

dating experiences and how his mother guided him.

This is a must have book for the youth of today. As a quote given in

the front pages of this book says:

''If The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens doesn't help you,

then you must have a perfect life already.''

BELIEVE ME! Your money will not be wasted if you purchase this book.
