Serious men is a Hindi film available on Netflix India, directed by Sudhir Mishra - who did films like Chameli & Hazaro Khwaishein. The main lead is of course Nawazudding and other star-cast includes all off-beat characters like Indira Tiwari, Marathi actor Sanjay Narvekar, newfound face Shweta Basu Prasad(she has also acted in "Ray" another web series on Netflix based on stories by Satyajit Ray.
This is a typical Nawaz Saab-style movie - a satirical comedy-drama said to be based on the book by Manu Joseph.
Nawazuddin is playing a middle-aged man, coming from a deprived class in India, living in a slum area and working as an assistant in a Science & Research center. He always wanted his son, Adi to get the best and not have the same hardships that he had to go through in his life.
He realizes that Adi is good at rehearsing, remembering, and speaking in public with confidence - so he initially gives him some science lessons/theorems/concepts which Adi mimics as is in school, with friends & others - soon he gains the desired publicity as a genius child.
One lie leads to another and soon the father-son duo is caught in a situation that seems to be going out of control to manage - because, in reality, Adi is not what Nawaz shows him as to the world. Nobody including the mother is aware of this reality it's just the son & father duo who knows of this secret.
What happens next? Does this work in the long term? Does it affect Adi in any way? Can they make any good out of this for a better future for Adi? Is it the right thing that Nawaz did - considering his past?

There is a scene I would like to mention from the movie, which tells us a lot, where Nawaz tells his wife that they lived their life in a spectrum of 2G, where they had to struggle for everything, their children will be in 3G - very well educated and capable of answering bigger un-answered questions, whereas their grand-children will be even a better generation where they will not have to do anything and there would be nothing more to research/invent of work for.
However, he also feels the society/world is up against people like him and will let them rise and in a way, he vents out his frustrations, revenge on this society by means of his son.
IMDb Rating is not that great - it's 6.8, however, if you are Nawazuddin Siddiqui''s fan - you will like the movie anyway. Even better to watch for parents with young/teen children.
The acting by the kid(Akshat Das) is also very much heart-touching.
