Serena Williams is no doubt one of the best womans tennis players to play the game. She is on a pace to set all kinds of records, however, I can't take her seriously until she gives herself an attitude check. I have trouble watching her arrogance shine through in interviews after a victory. She consistently makes it sound like she knows that she is the best and that she considers most other players to be inferior. The key to a good player is knowing you are one but not expressing that knowledge. Modesty is a virtue, especially in an individual sport where many cheer based on personality. When she does lose, she never says that the other player was good, but rather that she made stupid mistakes or very often she makes some health excuse, such as a stomach ache. She went a bit too far when she decided to start taking injury timeouts because she was losing in a desperate attempt to change the momentum of a match in this years Australian Open. She was greeted back to the court by a chorus of boos. I will give Serena credit for improving slightly since her first grand slam victory, however, she must improve more before I consider her personality to be worthy of any praise.
