Is this sitcom the master of its domain? you bet!. Seinfeld was always touted as the show about nothing. The coolest thing about show is that the producers never tried to establish prolonged relationships or stories that will drag through various episodes.
The main characters of the show are Jerry Seinfeld who appears in the show as himself, Julia Dreyfus who appears as Elaine, Jason Alexander as George Castanza and Michael Richards as Kramer. All the characters of the show have given their career best performances. All of them have struggled to top their performance in this show. Some of the most memorable shows include The Soup Nazi, The Switch, The Little Jerry and The contest.
Soup Nazi is where the group finds an amazing soup kitchen where the owner is very temperamental and bans customers if they don't follow a proper ordering procedure. The switch is where Jerry attempts to date the roommate of the girl he is currently dating. The little Jerry is the one where Kramers buys a rooster by mistake and involves in cock fighting.
The contest...well this one does not need any recap. You have to see it!! To me, the two best characters of the show are Kramer and George. Kramer is a character whose life is anything but normal. He is the complete opposite of a normal man. His routine revolves around visiting the Seinfeld apartment. In an initial episode of Seinfeld, Jerry tells Kramer that what is his is also Kramer's. Throughout the 9/10 seasons of the sitcom, Kramers lives this sentence of Jerry.
Kramer is also famous for his abrupt behavior. He also indulged in various inventions and lawsuits. Jason Alexander stars as George, a complete loser who is a failure at everything he attempts. As he puts it himself ''I lived my whole life in shame, why would I die with some dignity''. Julia Louis Dreyfus and Jerry Seinfeld portray are very competent in their parts. The supporting cast includes parents of Jerry and George, Kramer's friend postman Newman and Jerry's uncle Leo.
The best of the lot are definitely George's parents, who portray a dysfunctional family with aplomb. Overall, a must see for any comedy fan. I have seen many comedy movies. But any half hour episode of Seinfeld would top most 1-2 hour comedy movies.
