Nice, fast and have option to use for firewire or thunderbolt if you can get the adapter. Front portion with the cable is detachable and you can attach that part to any 2.5" data drive. This particular function is very useful if you are planning to change your laptop drive and want to transfer the data to another computer.
Nice surprise is the software. If you buy this then you are eligible to download Paragon NTFS or HFS software for free from the seagate site. With HFS installed in Windows you can access mac files from the drive. Using the paragon NTFS on a mac use can read/write files on this from your mac. So either way you format this drive, you can use for both mac or Windows.
That sets this drive from the rest. I bought it from local store and using it for Time Machine on my Mac mini. Working flawlessly.
