Feel the spirit of Goa - Goan Fish Curry recipe
May 08, 2012 11:28 AM 5823 Views

I love sea food. Especially in Goa. They have their very own way of cooking it, that fish is always tender, prawns are juicy and spices are perfectly combined. But when u live in Bombay, u don t have so much time to visit Goa often. And I found a perfect solution - to cook goan food at home. Pomfret is one of my food passions. And here is a recipe that I want to share - Goan Fish Curry with pomfret.

Ingredients:

200 gms of pomfret

0, 5 of grated coconut

1, 5 tablespoons of coriander seeds

4 peppercorns

4 cloves of garlic

5 red Kashmiri chilies

0, 5 of teaspoon of Tumeric powder

2 pieces of Kokum

Salt

Wash the fish, clean it properly and cut it into slices. Slices should be thin. Add salt on every slice

Mix coconut, coriander, peppercorns, garlic. Make a paste.

Take a pot. Fill it with this paste. Add turmeric and boil it, adding the fish and salt.

Reduce the flame a little and keep the dish on it till the fish becomes tender. Now add the kokum.

Serve hot. Better with rice.

And feel the spirit of Goa!
