Nowadays, Indian TV is all about interaction with the public. With so many reality TV shows popping up one after the other, the general viewer is only left with the option of either watching thoise never ending cacophony of non stop nonsence we know as 'Ekta Kapoor's SOAP' or its likeness or we have to stick to some reality TV shows or the other.

I would be unfair, if I would say that all reality TV is boring. Competitions like Sa Re Ga Ma( hosted by Shaan) or K for Kishore were among the best of the lot. But on the whole the complete on 'on the stage song competition' genre is pretty quickly becoming monotonous.

Same can be said about quiz shows. 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'( first one) hosted by Amitabh Bachchan was very interesting. Being hosted by the biggest name in Bollywood first time on TV gave it all the zest Indian television just needed. Now we see big stars on TV all the time . even that has become monotonous . but that is an entirely different story altogether. Thus be it KBC 2 or "Kya Ap Paachvi Class se Tez hai" ( a direct but unsuccessful rip off from "Are you smarter than a Vth Grader ") . they leave a lot to be desired.

I know in the past I was crazy about serials like Karamchand . and even more Byomkesh Bakshi! But they cease to exist now.

Even comedy series on air are mostly re-runs and popular and likeable shows like FRIENDS and the Simpsons can also be only viewed so many times.

About:

Scrubs first premiered in USA in 2001 on NBC. Though it took a while to make it to Indian TV, Scrubs is fast becoming very popular with the'English Programme watching crowd' in India.

It came a gust of cool breeze in the parched grounds of Indian Television where practically every interesting thing was a re-run and the rest was monotony.

This hilarious show focuses on several people working at Sacred Heart, a teaching hospital.

It is many a times slapstick and surreal vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John "J.D." Michael Dorian. The best part is that the whole show is extremely fast paced and funny in such a way that it wont let you wipe that smile on your face.

Characters:

Among the main characters J.D.( played by Zach Braff), Elliot Reid(Sarah Chalke), Christopher Turk (Donald Faison) andCarla Espinosa(Judy Reyes)  are all extremely goofy and make you smile all the time.

Two other characters play senior roles in the hospital. Dr. Percival "Perry" Cox(John C. McGinley) is the senior attending physician at Sacred Heart and the hospital's Residency Director. J.D. considers Cox his mentor despite the fact that Dr. Cox routinely criticizes and belittles him. Cox frequently suggests that this harsh treatment is intended as conditioning for the rigors of hospital life.

Ken Jenkins plays Dr. Bob Kelso, Sacred Heart's Chief of Medicine. Kelso is cold, heartless and cruel, driven primarily by the hospital's bottom line rather than the well-being of patients. However, it is occasionally suggested that he has a softer side, and that his cruelty is a means of coping with the hard decisions he is often forced to make, stating that when he became Chief of Medicine he thought he'd be "the man". Instead he very quickly realized that the harsh decisions made him unpopular, however, he had to continue his "evil" facade to keep the hospital running smoothly.

The only lead character who is not a medical professional is a hospital custodian known only as "Janitor" is played by Neil Flynn. An incident in the pilot episode establishes an adversarial relationship between him and J.D., which persists throughout the series. This tends to take the form of the Janitor pulling mean-spirited pranks on J.D., although J.D. occasionally gets even.

The series has repeatedly featured guest appearances by movie actors not generally seen on episodic television, such as Colin Farrell, Heather Graham and Brendan Fraser.

Overall, the resultant of what can easily be called as excellent direction, awesome script and really versatile acting you get the absolutely hilarious, Emmy and a Peabody award winning.

series  . SCRUBSwhich is an absolute delight to watch!

Back in USA they used to show back to back episodes for hours . but then who is complaining?
