Some movies are made to be seen but some are made to be felt. Schindlers List is the one to be seen, felt, absorbed and remember.

A real cinematic gem, a milestone from who else but the king himself Steven Spielberg. He has made some real good movies but this one takes the cake just for sheer brilliance. I have not seen a movie with so simple a storyline being transformed into history. His other attempts won him worldwide acclain allright but it is his best work.

Based on a real life story of a greedy buisnessman Oskar Schindler who makes his living by exploiting the already forsaken Jews but in the end turns out to be their saviour from the ruthless German Camp Head.

The scenes were very forcing and exceptional and very well described the ruthlessness and audacisiousness of the Germans in that era when they considered Jews to be a mistake of God and thrust upon themselves to set that mistake right by only one way--killing them.

The performances were also very breathtaking. But I seriously doubt if anyone other than Spielberg could have done justice to the subject which needed absolute understanding and a vision as clear as his.

Whether it is the scene of raw killing of Jews on the camps on streets or the conversations between Oskar and the German Officer, they are all magnificent.

The only possible comparision I can think of is a hindi movie Dil Se which was directed by another master Mani Ratnam. He also took a very difficult subject and transformed it into a beautiful film.

As I often say, when things go right, they just go perfect.
